The threat -
Open green space is now a rarity in Vrindavan, and it is in serious peril. A mafia cartel has already seized 20 acres of land along the Yamuna River, and they are now implementing their playbook to target Jiva Farm as its next illegal acquisition. Jiva Farm has been legally owned for over 20 years by Satyanarayana Das, Founder and Director of Jiva Institute. But the mafia cartel is using its disproportionate financial resources and influence to bully Jiva Institute and seize the land through falsified claims. Jiva Institute is fighting back in the courts.

Jiva Farm is one of the last bastions of open green space in Vrindavan. The goal is the preservation of this sacred green space for the public good. Jiva Farm serves as an important link between Vrindavan’s rural past and its future sustainability. Through regenerative farming practices, the land produces organic food for the Jiva community and provides grazing grounds for its protected cows. It also provides much needed public access to green space for the Vrindavan community.
